The State of Ohio, under the leadership of Governor John R. Kasich, formed Ohio for Responsible Gambling (ORG) to bring quality services and messaging to Ohio communities to reduce problem gambling and build awareness of resources available for prevention and treatment of gambling disorder. The Be the 95% awareness campaign is supported by funds collected through Ohio’s taxes on gambling.
Ohio has a large network of community-based service agencies that exist to help individuals and families impacted by too much gambling. Services are coordinated by each county Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board. Counseling for gambling disorder is available in most Ohio counties. Communities also have agencies that provide prevention and education for gambling issues. Gambling Problem? Call 1800-589-9966
Be the 95% Problem Gambling Awareness Campaign!!!
Partners of Ohio for Responsible Gambling (ORG) – the Ohio Casino Control Commission, Ohio Lottery Commission, Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS), and Ohio Racing Commission – last year launched a campaign designed to prevent problem gambling and to build awareness of resources aimed at helping at-risk individuals. The campaign has been specifically molded to reach the “influencers” of problem gamblers – parents, spouses, siblings and friends – to provide engaging tips for low-risk gambling, and to direct Ohioans to a web-site that offers a “take the quiz” problem gambling screening feature.
